Jenny Donahue, DPT

Gwen graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1995 and has dedicated her long career to women’s and children’s health. She further advanced her clinical training through extensive coursework with the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, where she also served as a teaching assistant, expanding her expertise in treating the full spectrum of pelvic floor dysfunction.

Through her own birthing experiences, Gwen recognized that many important rehabilitation concepts supporting pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and return to fitness are often overlooked in the traditional medical model. As a mother of two school-aged children, she deepened her knowledge by completing a rigorous 600-hour, year-long program at a midwife-run health center, becoming both a childbirth educator and doula. In this role, she has worked privately with families and collaboratively with their obstetricians and midwives.

In addition to her work in pelvic health, Gwen has practiced in orthopedic and outpatient physical therapy settings. She strongly believes in the important role physical therapy can play throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and enjoys partnering with clients to create individualized treatment plans that alleviate symptoms, avoid common pitfalls, prepare for birth, and support a safe return to movement and fitness.
